The story
In 2008, at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Olivier Raoux went up once to collect the César for best production design for La Môme, by Olivier Dahan. He went up again the same evening for the César for best costumes, on behalf of Marit Allen, who died in November 2007: two awards for one film, one of them for an absent woman.
Born at Grandrû, in the Oise, on 10 April 1961, he had rebuilt for that film the Paris of Édith Piaf — who lies at Père-Lachaise herself, a few hundred metres from him.
On 22 March 2011 he suffered a fatal heart attack on the Île-Molène, in Finistère, during the shooting of Les Seigneurs, again by Olivier Dahan. On the stone in Division 84 it is his mother-in-law's name that comes first: the actress Cathy Rosier, whose daughter Pascale he had married, had gone before him by seven years.
